Ophthalmic Product Manager. Ophthalmic Product Manager required, to be based in Surrey. Salary c£35,000- £40,000 per annum. We are currently seeking, on behalf of our client, an Ophthalmic Product Manager, to be based in Surrey. Salary c£35,000-£40,000. Person specification :- The ideal candidate should be educated to degree level, preferably but not essentially, with a PhD in an ophthalmic related field. Their commercial background should be in sales, selling Ophthalmic products and concepts to ophthalmologists and optometrists in hospitals, private clinics and Opticians. As this is an international role, experience of selling in international markets is required. International travel will therefore be involved. Purpose of the Job :- To manage all aspects of sales activities and product marketing to achieve the budgeted sales volumes and profit objectives for the specific brand. Responsibilities :- To source new customers and develop current distributors as assigned to maximise sales and growth to agreed company goals. To select distributors by country and maintain, set objectives, monitor and manage. To negotiate contractual terms and issue relevant distributor agreements in line with business strategy. To provide effective training to distributors as required in the use and maintenance of the products. To develop and execute strategies to increase sales and open new markets. To maximise sales within accepted pricing and margin boundaries. To regularly travel to customers and markets both in the UK and overseas as required to achieve the above. Achieve targets to agreed deadlines Define, provide and follow up on sales targets. To prepare annual sales budgets in collaboration with the Sales and Marketing Director by means of forecast unit sales, costs, and selling prices. To plan and execute a strategic pricing structure and to issue new price lists in accordance with the distribution policy. To co-ordinate and submit monthly variance forecasts to production. To attend regular sales meetings to report on current sales position against budget, progress with current projects and future plans. To keep on top of market trends and competitor activity and communicate business requirements. . To conduct marketing surveys to assess market potential for product growth and development. To advise on relevant exhibitions for participation or attendance. Manage, monitor and attend where necessary. To prepare annual schedules for advertising, exhibitions, literature, PR, sales events and seminars, execute and monitor in line with the budget. To provide outstanding customer service to all customers. To ensure all customer contacts are recorded on an approved system and provide statistical information for the monitoring of brand results. To maintain a culture of total honesty and integrity in all of our dealing with our customers to take all steps to ensure the reputation of our business is maintained at the highest level. To build and maintain good working relationships with other staff and departments within the business. To establish good disciplines in all matter relating to health and safety both for our customers and staff.
